Travel Down the Road and Back Again

This theme from the Golden Girls by Andrew Gilt comes to heed for today.  What a funny show that was!  Non simply is the song for today's web log title from "The Golden Girls"…the trivia question is besides.  Name the 4 master characters from the Golden Girls, AND the actresses who played them.  No inquiry allowed – only your retentivity.

We got a very early start this morning time.  Before 9 a.m., it actually wasn't horribly hot exterior.  In fact, with the early clouded skies, the temperature was almost okay.  We sadly left Hilton Head Harbor Resort and Marina.  Upon reflection, we really should have arranged a longer stay there.  I think the park is astounding.  It is ane of, if not the nicest  at which we've ever stayed.  We had to drop off the rental car at the Hilton Caput Isle Aerodrome.  If in that location was any drome that was the exact OPPOSITE of Newark Airport…this would be it.  The building is very pocket-sized, and there'due south parking correct outside the door.  I dropped the car and went dorsum to my chore as co-airplane pilot of the RV.  That meant that Mikaela was once again relegated to the couch!  Equally nosotros prepared for this trip, I knew I wanted to stay on rail in my war against weight.  In my research for this trip, I plant a Weight Watchers coming together just minutes away. And yes, I did it – I weighed in right after dropping off the car – and had a groovy weight loss!  I judge 10,000 steps and food journals and eating correctly and taking "homo bites" all DOES work.  I celebrated by having a piece of the Savannah pralines from yesterday!  Only, it was merely a piece.  We then proceeded on our 2 and a half hour journey to Jacksonville, Florida.

By the time nosotros hit Florida, the temperature was, once once more, oppressive.  We stopped to pick upwards the 2 prescriptions at the Walgreens that gave me such trouble.  Once again – the best laid plans don't mean annihilation sometimes. My least favorite pharmacist "Brandon" shared that he just CAN'T GET one of the medications from his distributor.  I was speechless.  If I had known that in advance, as I asked on the telephone in one of my many earlier calls, I could take contacted another store. I know for a fact that Walgreens Tin can get those meds – considering they filled that same prescription in New Jersey.  I left the store on fire, and with my hands totally tied.

There was a Winn-Dixie across the street; we filled in with fresh fruit and vegetables. Winn-Dixie is a very nice shop.  We constitute that the entrance to the Flamingo RV Park was less than 5 minutes away.  That was skillful planning.  They were very nice at the function, and we are in a site that, once once more, is next to the puddle.  Our set up up this afternoon was a chip more difficult than usual due to the oppressive heat.  We just couldn't absurd the RV down enough to go far comfortable.  (I must tell y'all, equally I write this now at 12:30 a.m. – it'due south plenty cool inside!)  Nosotros ate a succulent dejeuner, inverse our clothes, and met an old friend of Rich'due south merely a few steps from our site.  Rich's friend Steve, his wife Kristin and their 3 boys moved from New Bailiwick of jersey to the Jacksonville expanse concluding twelvemonth. Steve came to choice usa up and take united states back to their lovely domicile, for a long awaited reunion.

We had such a overnice visit!  They have a beautiful home and a big, refreshing pool – and we were welcomed in both! Kristin and Steve made tilapia "foil packets" on the grill and delicious asparagus and dark-brown rice.  Information technology was another dandy, healthy dinner!  In that location was, I must mention, first-class dessert to acme off the evening. Nosotros talked and caught up on their life in Florida, and we met their 3 very active, very engaging boys!  Information technology was such a prissy visit – and so nice to see these former "Jerseyites".

When Steve dropped us back at our site, the place was dark and quiet.  I take noticed on this trip that the campgrounds in the south certainly don't party very tardily.  I also noticed that I only had about 3,500 steps on my fitbit.  I needed 10,000.  Equally I said yesterday, I am trying to brand some changes on a daily basis.  The expert news is that Rich offered to walk with me – because it was also night and daunting for me to walk around by myself.  We walked all over, and finally hit our goal of 10,000 steps.  Success!  And then, past starting my day with xx sips of h2o to hydrate, and food journaling, and 10,000 steps, I am on runway.  Tip number 4 was to cut out elementary carbs by 6 p.grand. I think I did that tonight as well.  I am glad that I can conquer these changes, ane at a time. It is like shooting fish in a barrel to concentrate on these changes when, of course, I'm not working.  The trick is to do these in conjunction with a chore!

Last night's trivia question was answered first, correctly, past our friend Mitch, with friend Lew getting honorable mention for giving the name in its entirety.  The space man on the Flintstones was "The Great Gazoo".  It was a deep question, I know, but I experience I must use this platform to educate the public!

I am watching a epitomize of today's events on the news, and I am deplorable and aroused at the violence in our beautiful country.  Because this state is and then cute, and considering there are then many wonderful people to encounter, and because life is short – we must change.  I'1000 non making a political statement – I'm praying for peace.

I will end with some of the beauty that we have seen in the by few days.
